Josefina Perpétua Pitra Diakite became ambassador of Angola to the United States on June 20, 2001.
Ambassador Diakite previously served as ambassador on different occasions to Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland from 1993 to 2000. She was also the director of the America and Europe Department at the Ministry of External Relations (1992-1993), director of the Department of Western Europe at the Ministry (1989-1992), national director of t echnical assistance at the Secretariat of State for Cooperation (1987-1989), and head of the contract coordinating unit at the Secretariat (1985-1987).
Ambassador Diakite graduated with a law degree from Agostinho Neto University in 1985. She is married with two children.
