Kulis has been notably focused on international trade relations and trade promotion. In the past eight years, Kulis has been posted as commercial counselor at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Wellington, New Zealand (1992-93), in Sydney, Australia (1993-98), and in Tokyo (1998-August 2000).
