Appointments (June, 2000) Embassy of Czech Republic • Jakub Skalnik has taken the post of First Secretary (Science and Technology). Embassy of Kenya • Mary-Goretti Ndede has taken the post of Second Secretary (Political). Ms. Ndede has worked in the Foreign Service Office for 11 years. She previously spent eight and a half years in the Human Settlements Development (Permanent Mission of Kenya to Habitat), and has also worked in the Economic and Trade division. Embassy of Sri Lanka • Mr. J.D.A. Wijewardena has taken the post of Deputy Chief of Mission. He previously was Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. • Mrs. M.N.G. De Silva has left the post of Deputy Chief of Mission. Embassy of Tanzania • Alex Massinda has taken the post of Minister. Mr. Massinda has been working in the Tanzanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the past 23 years. Before coming to Washington he was the Deputy Chief of Protocol, a post he held for three years. • Anastase Rwegatura has left the post of Minister.
