Appointments (February, 2000)

Embassy of Benin

Borrome Todjinou has taken the post of minister counselor. Todjinou was minister counselor at the Permanent Mission of Benin to United Nations from December 1997 to November 1999.

Thodore Honr Ahimakin has left the post of minister counselor. Ahimakin will work at the ministry of foreign affairs of Benin.

Jean-Marie Dimon Worou has taken the post of attach. From May to October 1999, Worou was assistant to the permanent secretary of the ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation of Benin.

Kouassi Guidi has left the post of first secretary. Guidi will work at the ministry of foreign affairs of Benin.

Embassy of Egypt

Mohamed Nabil Fahmy has taken the post of ambassador. Fahmy was ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary Arab Republic of Egypt to Japan.

Ahmed Maher El Sayed has left the post of ambassador. Sayed served as Egyptian Ambassador to Portugal (1980-1982), to Belgium (1982-1984), and to the former USSR subsequently to Russia (1988-1992). He has been ambassador to the United States since July 1992.

Eerik Marmei has taken the post of first secretary.

Jaan Salulaid has left the post of first secretary.

Embassy of the European Union

Gnter Burghardt has taken the post of head of delegation. Since October 1999, Burghardt was director general for external relations under Chris Patten.
